How we know what fits what
There is no public master list of which water filter fits which refrigerator. That is exactly why this site exists — and why it is worth being explicit about where every claim on it comes from.
Where the data comes from
Filter suppliers publish compatibility lists so buyers can check fitment before ordering. We read those lists from 5 suppliers, each of which publishes them through a public product feed:

What we do with it
A model number only counts if it appears inside an explicit compatibility block — a heading that says these are the refrigerators this filter fits. We do not pattern-match model-shaped strings out of marketing copy, because that picks up part numbers, retailer IDs and rival SKUs and quietly turns them into fitment claims.
The same filter is sold under many part numbers: EDR1RXD1, W10295370A, Filter 1 and 46-9081 are one physical object. We merge those into a single entry so a page can tell you every name yours might be printed with. Two entries are merged when suppliers name them interchangeably and their refrigerator lists agree.
What we check before publishing
Each rebuild has to clear these gates or it does not ship:

What this does not tell you
- Coverage is limited to models a supplier has actually published. A fridge missing from this site is not a fridge without a filter.
- Manufacturers change filters mid-production. Where our suppliers disagree about a model, the page shows both answers rather than guessing.
- We do not test filters. Certification claims shown are the ones the supplier publishes.
Corrections
If a page here is wrong about your refrigerator, that is worth fixing for everyone who owns one. The fitment data and the checks that gate it are regenerated from source on every rebuild, so a correction upstream flows through automatically.
